Artegy provides Isuzu trucks to Powwow

A new fleet contract was announced today by commercial vehicle funding and fleet management specialist Artegy. It is providing 39 trucks to Powwow, the UK’s biggest water cooler company, in a deal worth over £1 million.

The trucks are being taken on five-year full contract hire, including breakdown assistance. Artegy’s vehicle specification experts worked with Powwow to determine the best vehicles for the job, and it was decided to use the 7.5 tonne Isuzu NQR with a specially designed body in order to carry Powwow water bottles and coolers.

Artegy, Isuzu and Powwow worked together and the result was specialist curtainsider trucks with a low roof, modified for bottled water storage.

Dave Russell, Powwow’s Logistics Director, comments: “Artegy is the funding and fleet management specialist, so it handles the fleet and we are free to focus on our core business of providing bottled water and water coolers. In addition to the funding, Artegy’s service and maintenance expertise keeps the trucks on the road where they belong."

“As far as the trucks themselves, Isuzu vehicles provide exactly the sort of safe, reliable transport that our products need.”

Keith Child, Marketing Director of Isuzu, notes: “By working together with Artegy and Powwow we could ensure that the trucks we provided were exactly right for the job. Every company needs individual attention and specialist equipment, rather than attempting a ‘one size fits all’ solution.”

The head of Sales and Marketing at Artegy, adds: “Powwow has, in a few short years, reached a market-leading position with an excellent reputation for customer service. Our brief is to keep its costs low and its vehicles running, so that its customers get their water delivered on time and Powwow continues to be the leading company in its market.”
