Artegy and Pirelli cables have the power

Artegy, the contract hire provider for specialist commercial vehicles, today announced that it is providing service, maintenance and repair services to 73 vehicles operated by Pirelli Cables HV Systems, a part of Pirelli Cables Limited the UK’s largest manufacturer of power cables.

All the vehicles covered under this contract are highly specialist in nature, with equipment including winch trailers, cranes and lifting platforms. They are used for the installation and servicing of underground high voltage power cables.

Paul Thomas, Logistics Manager at Pirelli Cables HV Systems, comments: “Artegy’s expertise in specialist commercial vehicles gives real cost benefits in the maintenance of our fleet. The team is able to manage that entire function efficiently and effectively, leaving us free to concentrate on operating the vehicles.

“We are also working with Artegy on alternative ways in which we can fund parts of the fleet. Currently we purchase our vehicles but we are looking at contract hire as this would allow us to fix our costs as well as protecting us from the volatile second-hand market.”
