ABB, the global power & automation technology company, has taken delivery of a further 26 commercial vehicles all supplied and managed by Artegy, the provider of contract hire dedicated to specialist commercial vehicles.

The 26 vehicles include 12 Iveco Daily 50C13’s with Versalift ET38NF 14m access platforms, DAF LF Dropsides with Palfinger cranes and a range of support vehicles. Bott completed all the interior fitment requirements including shelving and storage space for tools and equipment, allowing the engineers to work in a well organised and safe environment.

Andy Wainwright, Sales Consultant for Artegy comments “The additional vehicles are required specifically to fulfil the Staffordshire Street Lighting contract awarded to ABB in 2003 by Staffordshire County Council. By understanding the requirements of this contract and liasing closely with all the suppliers involved, Artegy have been able to provide specification support to ABB and successfully manage the build and delivery process”.

Artegy will be providing their specialist contract hire service including design specification, legal compliance, full maintenance and repairs, tyres and road fund licence management over a 5 year contract period.

Julie Haywood, a spokes person for ABB comments, “We have made it our focus to ensure the technical standard of our commercial vehicle fleet is at the highest possible level. As a result we have reduced the contract term from 7 to 5 years to ensure our vehicles operate with the latest technology available. Artegy have worked closely with us and their suppliers to achieve this and as a result we are able to maximise our fleet operation”.

The Head of Sales and Marketing for Artegy adds, “We are delighted that ABB have chosen Artegy to supply and manage these additional vehicles. We currently manage a fleet of 75 vehicles for ABB, which has grown from 30 during our 6-year relationship. We have an excellent understanding of ABB’s operational and vehicle requirements and our strong long term relationship ensures we continue to deliver a reliable and efficient service”.
